The Chamber Welcomes Candela Renewables

Candela Renewables, represented by Senior Manager of Project Development Rick Ferrera. Candela Renewables is the utility-scale solar power plant developers working on the Stonefield Solar Project situated along US 62 near the Vulcan Materials Quarry. Stonefield is expected to include approximately 1,030 acres of land. Within this footprint, the total surface area of solar panels is only 165 acres. That’s less than 20%!  The open space will be used for native vegetation, pollinator plantings, and continued agricultural activities within the project boundaries. For the past three years, the Candela team has been meeting with land owners, adjacent property owners, community and education leaders, and elected officials. Many in this room have spoken with them and discussed their innovative agri-voltaic plans and how the community can be part of the planning. The team is excited to present the Stonefield Solar Project for approval at the May 2 Meeting of the Hardin County Planning and Development Commission.
