We are excited to announce that LG&E and KU is our newest Community Partner member. LG&E and KU are regulated utilities that serve more than 1.3 million customers and have consistently ranked among the best companies for customer service in the U.S. LG&E serves 333,000 natural gas and 429,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16 surrounding counties, while KU serves 566,000 customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia.
For decades, LG&E and KU have been very active and engaged with the Chamber, serving as volunteers, participating in the Leadership Hardin County program, being involved with the Ambassador program and supporting numerous Chamber events. Their support is unwavering to the community, and we are grateful for their continued support of the Chamber and their decision to elevate their membership through this investment.
