On February 8th, Leadership Hardin County visited our state capital in Frankfort, KY. Our day started with a fantastic tour of the capital building. The tour guide did such a fantastic job. She was extremely passionate about her job which provided a very entertaing and educational experience.
The tour of the capital ended on the floor of the House of Representatives. Senator Dennis Parrett and representative Dean Schamore provided us with an explanation of the differences between the House and the Senate.
We then visited with Representative Moore, Representative DuPlessis, and Representative Schamore. Representative DuPlessis discussed his desire to help his constituents and Representative Moore gave a great explanation of what makes a good leader. All three discussed issues we face in Hardin County.
The group then met with Senator Dennis Parrett and he discussed issues that our state is facing and described his typical days spent at the capital.
After arriving back in Elizabethtown, Bryce Schumate met with us in the government building to discuss the fiscal court system with the leadership group. Bryce reviewed several issues that the county is facing and facilitated discussion with the group. Leadership Hardin County then toured the Hardin County Government Building.
Lastly, Mike Leo provided us with a thorough tour of the 911 department.
