Kentucky Utilities Assistance Information

Disconnections for past-due balances will soon resume. If a customer receives a disconnection notice that states “DISCONNECTS RESUMING” they will have until the final payment date listed on the notice to contact us for payment options before service will be disconnected.Need help managing your utility bill? KU is prepared to help customers manage their bill and provide options to allow customers to choose a payment plan for their past due balance that best meets their needs — extend their payment a few days or spread the amount evenly over 6 or 12 months. How?

•We encourage customers to use our convenient Go Touchless options, offered online on our website (My Account) and through our automated phone system, or work with a customer representative who can assist in setting up a payment plan to help you manage the outstanding balance.•For customers preferring to connect in person, our business offices are open (9:00-5:00 weekdays) and all are following CDC, state and federal COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.

Other Payment Plan Information for Residential customers
•If a residential customer does not select a payment option for their past due balance, they will automatically be set up on a 12-month payment plan one time beginning November 10. If a residential customer is placed on an automatic plan, a separate letter will be sent outlining the terms of this payment plan.•Disconnections for residential customers will not resume until their payment plan appears on the next billing statement. After that, if the current bill and the installment are not paid by the current bill due date, a disconnection notice will be issued indicating when the account is eligible for disconnect.•Customers will need to ensure they pay their current billed amount and any installment amounts by the due date each month to avoid disconnection of service.

We will continue to waive late payment charges for residential customers through Dec 31. Please take advantage of resources and assistance programs that may be available to you in your community.
