The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce awarded Hardin County Judge Executive, Harry Berry, with their 2019 Government Excellence Award. Presented on Thursday, July 11, at the Annual Awards Dinner, this award recognizes an individual or organization within the government sector who demonstrates a collaborative approach in the community, helping to promote growth and development and a pro-business climate throughout the region.
Hardin County Judge Executive Harry Berry began his fifth four-year term this past January as Hardin County’s first Republican Judge/Executive. His vision for Hardin County continues to be one of fiscal responsibility and first-rate public services worthy of the Commonwealth’s 4th largest county. Through his financial and economic leadership Hardin county continues to be the
lowest taxed county in Kentucky.
His focus is on improving the county’s services and infrastructure while providing sound fiscal management of our resources.
Judge Berry retired from active military service as a Regular Army Lieutenant Colonel in 1998. While serving for twenty years as an Army Corps of Engineer officer, he obtained a wide variety of experience in civil engineering and construction, environmental clean-up, law enforcement, leadership, and fiscal management.
Judge Berry’s civic engagements include nearly 2 dozen organizations regionally and state-wide and he has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Chamber since its inception. He lends his time and talent without hesitation.
