I’d like to acknowledge Brandi Lee, Transition Coordinator with Grayson County Schools. Brandi has some very special guests with her representing the Lead with CTE program. Now, you’re asking yourself, what is Lead with CTE? I’m glad you asked.
Lead with CTE is an opportunity for Career & Technical Students to gain leadership experience through a partnership with the local Chamber of Commerce. Grayson County Transition Coordinator Brandi Lee and Grayson County Chamber Director April Spalding began this program in 2021 to expose talented high school students to business leaders in the community and various chamber supported events. “We believe that a crucial factor in creating a strong future workforce lies in creating strong relationships with students and industry at an early age. We also recognize that there are many great opportunities locally for students to begin their careers that they are often unaware of, and that’s where the collaboration is most valuable. Connecting students with potential employers and giving them a preview of opportunities to come is the intention behind LEAD with CTE. ”
Mrs. Lee works with students studying Automotive, Business, Computer Programming, HVAC, Machining, Marketing, Nursing and Welding. The Grayson County High School Students present today are studying machining and are interested in a career in Manufacturing or Engineering.
