Congratulations to the faculty, staff, students and families of West Hardin Middle School on the ground breaking for their new school.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 26th at the new site, located on East Main Street in Cecilia, adjacent to Cecilia Valley Elementary School.
A very large gathering of news media, alumni, WHMS retired staff, HCS district officials, parents, community leaders, Chamber Ambassadors and partners in the project attended the celebration.
West Hardin principal Mrs. Christin Swords was surrounded by students as the first shovels of dirt were turned. Hardin County Schools Superintendent Mrs. Teresa Morgan, school board members and other officials also had the opportunity to participate in the special event.
The school hopes to be completed and opened in 2026.
