Fort Knox, Ky. – The installation’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Post Gazebo located across from Brooks Parade Field here.
The event will feature holiday music, caroling, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
About 500 free Christmas trees will be offered to all active service members and their families immediately following the ceremony, courtesy of the “Trees for Troops” program, sponsored by Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, FedEx and the National Christmas Tree Association. Tree distribution will be adjacent to the Post Gazebo at the Waybur Theater parking lot here until 8 p.m. Dec. 7 and from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 8.
Additionally, attendees can view the 4’ x 8’ holiday cards surrounding Brooks Parade Field here, courtesy of Fort Knox units, organizations and schools as well as area businesses and municipalities.
This event is free and open to the general public. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available.
