Do you endorse Lift and the Local Option Sales Tax?

I am not an advocate for new taxes however I do agree with the News Enterprise on the issue of the Local Option Sales Tax.   NE Quote “It is hard to disagree with the right to decide” let the residents of Hardin County make that choice!

Whether you are in support of LIFT or not, what projects do you see as a priority that could benefit from community funding?
There are many projects that could benefit from community funding I personally would like to see a convention center built in Hardin County.  Conferences , events large and small attract out of town guest, fill our hotels and eat at our restaurants generating economic impact for all of Hardin County..

In light of additional potential cuts at Fort Knox, will you continue to provide funding for One Knox? If not, what are you willing to do to protect the economic contribution of Fort Knox?

I will continue to provide funding for One Knox, we have to do everything we can do to support Fort Knox and our troops.

Do you see any services provided by both city and county government where it would be more cost effective to combine these efforts?

I do not see any services provided by County and  City government where it would be more cost effective to combine these efforts . I am not in favor of Hardin County United.

What strategic plans would you recommend in order to improve the finances of the jail operations?

Hardin County Detention Center needs to be given consistent funding to properly run the facility, the budget was cut drastically causing financial issues.  Security of Hardin County should be top priority..

What strategic plans would you recommend in order to improve the finances of the land fill operations?

Hardin county should operate the landfill. This should not be outsourced .. We should buy our own equipment making this profitable for Hardin County.

The County does not currently have an employee occupational or business tax; do you see a need to implement these taxes for the purpose of economic development for both existing small business as well as potential new business being attracted to the area?

I do not see a need for a county employee occupational or business license tax period!

Do you think the county should keep the Hospital or eventually sell it?

Hardin Memorial Hospital is spiraling downward. Why do we continue to spend money we don’t have …why are we paying Baptist East to manage our hospital and then hire a consulting firm to investigate what we need to do to turn HMH around… We do not need to sell Hardin Memorial Hospital we need to save it!!

Will you be a supporter of the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce?

I will support Hardin County Chamber of Commerce and will attend the President Circle Members meeting and regular Board meetings.
