On July 1, 2017, Kentucky Adult Education is launching a new brand, “Skills U,” that reflects the evolution of our adult education services and an increased emphasis on helping adults build academic and essential workforce skills for postsecondary education and career. As Kentucky Adult Education is the administrator of state grant funds for Hardin County Adult Education, we will also be branding the services we offer as “Skills U.”
By 2020, 62% of all jobs in Kentucky will require some level of postsecondary education. Skills U is a reflection of this reality, a reality further underscored by the implementation of the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Our program will continue to provide free instructional services to qualified adults, covering everything from foundational academic and GED test preparation skills to preparation for job-related certifications, college and career. Our branding change signifies an increased emphasis on working with all of our partners to create a seamless system that allows adults to get the postsecondary education and sustainable employment they need.
As our valued partner and community member, we wanted to ensure that you were aware of this exciting change, and we hope you will join us in spreading the word about all of the ways that Skills U can help our community’s adults meet their educational and employment goals.
