Metropolitan Status Saved for Elizabethtown and Others

An announcement was made today by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and 2nd District Representative Brett Guthrie sharing the good news that the Office of Management and Budget will maintain the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population threshold of 50,000. A proposal had been made earlier by OMB to increase the threshold to 100,000,which would have had a negative impact on our area and would have jeopardized vital federal funding for cities across the Commonwealth, including Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Owensboro and many others.
