December gave LHC 2020 a closer look at what Education Hardin County has to offer. Visits to North Hardin Christian School and John Hardin High school gave us a look at a couple of our primary and secondary school options. Then with trips to Elizabethtown
Community and Technical College (ECTC), Early College and Career Center (EC3), and their Workforce Solutions Bus, we saw opportunities to achieve certifications, licenses, trainings, and 2 year degree options. We then heard from McKendree University for Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees along with professional development courses.
This Day showed us the quality choices for education that we have right here in our backyard and highlights the partnerships that exist between the Hardin County School System and ECTC and the ease of transition for ECTC graduates to McKendree University.
Our day ended with a tour of Central Kentucky Community Foundation who is there to help us create a lasting legacy for our community for years to come. As we continue to decide on what kind of project and legacy we want to leave as a class, it was important to gain perspective on the strengths and the barriers that exist at all levels of the available education within Hardin County.
