The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce (HCCC) Board of Directors has announced that Melanie Parker has been selected as Vice President of Operations. The announcement comes following the promotion of former Vice President of Operations Kendra Scott to President/CEO of the organization.
A full-time executive position, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for organizing and managing all Chamber events, programs, media initiatives and Councils. In her new role, Parker will supervise events, coordinate volunteers, manage budgets and ensure effective marketing and public relations for all initiatives.
“The Vice President of Operations is a vital leadership role that drives the Chamber’s ability to deliver impactful programs and events, and we are confident Melanie will expertly fulfill these duties,” said HCCC Board Chair Josh Hubbard. “We are excited to have someone who shares our passion for serving the Hardin County business community and enhancing its growth and success in this role.”
Parker has been an Ambassador with the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce since 2011, playing a key role in the organization’s success. She is actively involved as the Chairperson of the Program Committee and serves on the board of directors. Her dedication to attending and supporting Chamber events reflects her strong commitment to the local business community.
Along with her Chamber involvement, Parker volunteers with multiple community organizations and was recognized as a Chamber Champion in 2015. Prior to joining the chamber, she served as Marketing Director of The Wright Legacy Group in Elizabethtown. Recently, she was instrumental in supporting the firm’s transition to JWC Wealth Management, continuing her work to provide financial guidance to the community.
“I am honored to step into the role of Vice President of Operations for the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, an organization that has meant so much to me and has done so much for my professional development over the years,” Parker said. “I look forward to continuing the work that supports our vibrant local business community.”
Scott served as Vice President of Operations from 2020 until her promotion to President/CEO in December. She said she is confident in Parker’s ability to be a quality successor.
“As someone who has served in the role Melanie is filling, I know firsthand how rewarding it is to work with such a dedicated team of volunteers and membership base to advance the mission of the Chamber,” Scott said. “Melanie’s volunteerism and involvement with the chamber extends well over a decade and she has served with enthusiasm and tireless dedication. She is knowledgeable, committed to excellence and passionate about our community. Melanie has an incredible opportunity to shape the Chamber’s initiatives and make a meaningful impact in our community, and I am excited to work with her in this endeavor.”
