The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to present the Kentucky-Indiana Challenge Cup, to be played Saturday, Jan. 6 at Central Hardin High School gymnasium.
This is the fifth year of the Challenge Cup series, which brings together five of the best high school teams from Indiana and Kentucky. The state that wins the most games gets possession of the Challenge Cup Trophy (photo) for the year. Kentucky defeated Indiana 4 games to 1 in the inaugural event in 2014, and has one each Challenge Cup series since by a 3-2 margin.
The best of five series includes four boys games and one girls game. The girls game features defending KY state champion Mercer County. The KY boys entries include three of the top 15 teams in the state in Oldham Co., Covington Catholic and Scott County.
Game Times: Noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm.
Admission: $8 per ticket; with children 6 years and under admitted free of charge.
One ticket gets you access to all five games or however many you choose to watch. Concessions, in-game promotions and contests will be a part of the festive day of great high school basketball competition. Proceeds will benefit the respective state basketball Halls of Fame.
The game schedule at Central Hardin H.S. gym is as follows:
- Noon: Bullitt East v. Rushville
- 2:00 p.m.: Oldham County v. Oldenburg Academy
- 4:00 p.m.: GIRLS – Mercer County v. Jeffersonville
- 6:00 p.m.: Covington Catholic v. Oak Hill
- 8:00 p.m.: Scott County v. Evansville Bosse
