Congratulations to Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland on their recent expansion. Two ribbon cutting ceremonies were held June 23rd to celebrate the renovation and expansion of the FAKH Volunteer Center and main office spaces to better meet the needs of their staff, clients, and volunteers.
Now serving 42 counties in Kentucky, Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland was started in Hardin County by two compassionate, visionary ladies; Ms. Rita Jenkins and Ms. Dottie Hanson. Ms. Jenkins, at 94 years young, attended the celebration and shared her joy in seeing the work and growth of the agency.
A large crowd of board members, staff, volunteers, elected officials, Chamber Ambassadors and supporters were on hand for the special event. Executive Director Jamie Sizemore cut the ribbon alongside Ms. Jenkins and the FAKH team.
Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland is located at 300 Peterson Drive and the Volunteer Center is located at 313 Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown. To learn more, visit www.feedingamericaky.org
