The Hardin County Branch of the NAACP is hosting its 5th Annual Celebration of the Freeing of Enslaved African Americans June 16th and 19th.
Everyone is invited to participate in the special events, which include a Soul food Feast and a Family Fun Day. The theme is “Freedom in the 21st Century.”
On June 16, 2023, the Soul Food Feast will take place at 6:30pm at Colvin Community Center in Radcliff. African attire is suggested and the tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children ages 5-12 and free for kids 4 and under. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
On June 19, 2023, there will be festivities at Freeman Lake Park from 10am-6pm, including music, food, games, bounce houses and motivational speakers. Speakers include former State Representative Attica Scott and State Representative COL (Ret) Pam Stevenson.
