The Elizabethtown Sports Park was awarded the 2019 Quality of Place Award at the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, July 11.
According to an economic impact study conducted by Sports Impacts, visitors to the E’town Sports Park contributed nearly $20 Million per year to our local economy. 60,000 families visit the park annually, spending approximately $300 per day at local businesses. The facility has been recognized in many national publications including: The New York Times, Sports Destination, and SportsEvents Magazine. It has also been named Facility of the Year by the Kentucky Parks and Recreation Association.
The park was built through a partnership and vision between Elizabethtown Tourism and the City of Elizabethtown. Leaders of these two organizations took on this project and managed the professional operations and marketing strategies, and continue to support the park today in its next phase of development.
