The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce has announced a new mobile app that will allow local businesses to offer coupons to customers on their smartphones and mobile devices. HCCC has entered into a partnership with My TMC App, a mobile coupon app, to enhance its “Buy Local” campaign. Buy Local is a program that the Chamber developed to promote and support local businesses. Two demo and information sessions will be held for businesses interested in My TMC App on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Chamber President/CEO Brad Richardson said, “We are excited to introduce this cutting-edge mobile technology to Hardin County and excited to see how our members will use it to attract new customers to grow their businesses.”
The app uses GPS-based functionality to geo-target users of the app, automatically displaying local coupons based on the location of the mobile consumer. My TMC App offers business owners the flexibility to change offers on a daily basis and track coupon views and usage rates. To redeem the coupon, customers show their phone to the merchant at the time of purchase.
Merchants pay a monthly fee for access to an easy-to-use web-based “dashboard” that allows them to list and update coupons on My TMC App to reach potential customers. Chamber members who sign-up during the first 30 days will receive special discounted pricing for their first and second year on the app.
My TMC App is currently available in select areas across the U.S. and Canada on the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android (2.3.3 and above) platforms. TMC stands for Today’s Mobile Coupon.
The demo and information sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 in the Community Room at Towne Mall. Click here to RSVP. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited.
