Congratulations to the Ambassador of the Month, Gwendolyn Brashear!
Mrs. Gwendolyn Brashear became a Chamber Ambassador just a few months ago because she believes in embracing and connecting with the people of this community. This passion for community outreach has led her to be instrumental in helping taking care of people and their needs for most of her life. For many years she has assisted with charities across Kentucky to include Multiple Sclerosis, March of Dimes, the Lupus foundation, United Way and the American Heart Association.
Gwendolyn is an honorable Kentucky Colonel, a graduate of the 2017-2018 Hardin County Leadership program, executive board member for the Legacy Foundation and actively serves the Hardin County NAACP as a youth council advisor and fundraising committee member.
Gwendolyn is an entrepreneur who owns one of Kentucky’s only African American bridal stores, Jumping the Broom Bridal Studio. She also operates her own online handbags, accessories and more boutique, B Inspired. She is the Vice President of the local nonprofit, Girls United which exists to provide resources that empower young women to become confident, successful, future leaders. Gwendolyn recently joined The Commitment house, LLC team as their Risk Manager. She is looking forward to working with an organization committed to helping people heal and maintain long-term sobriety by changing the way they live and think.
Gwendolyn is a “military brat” who has called Kentucky home for many years. She holds a public relations degree from Ashford University and is a Business Management alumnus of Sullivan University. She is married to Timothy Brashear and is the proud mother of 1 daughter, Elahna Ra’Jean. They live in Radcliff and are active members of St. Stephen Baptist Church of Hardin County where Gwendolyn co-hosts an online TV series “Good Grief, Good Gossip, Good God.” In their spare time, Gwendolyn and her family love giving back to their community, traveling and a good movie!
Gwendolyn believes “Greatness lies in understanding one another, loving one another and having compassion for one another.”
We thank Gwendolyn for all of her hard work, enthusiasm and service to the Chamber and our community.
