2026 Legislative Breakfast was a Great Success

The chamber was honored to co-host the 4th Annual Legislative Breakfast with the City of Vine Grove and the Radcliff Small Business Alliance on April 23, 2026.

The event was held at the beautiful Venue on Main in downtown Vine Grove and a large crowd of chamber members, community leaders, and elected officials were on hand to hear the latest updates and session recap from several of our state officials.

Major takeaways from the 2026 State Legislative session were the passage of the budget, a focus on infrastructure projects, funding of the road plan, workforce development and retainment of local talent, childcare and investments to public education.

Good news:

  • $11.2 million designated for Dixie Highway improvements in Radcliff
  • $1 million designated for Dixie Highway improvements in West Point
  • $4 million for HCWD #1 and HCWD #2
  • Support of a program through KCTCS to provide training for inmates in the state’s correctional system
  • The passage of HB 311 which requires railroad companies to manage obstructive vegetation at intersections with public roads and within 250 feet of a crossing. This is a result of the efforts of Meade County resident, Tanya Serna, who lost her son Hunter to a railroad crossing accident in 2020.

Other speakers at the breakfast included Mark Lord from US Rep. Guthrie’s office, Hardin County Judge Executive Keith Taul, Hardin County Clerk Brian D. Smith and the mayors of Radcliff, Elizabethtown, West Point and Vine Grove.

Thanks to everyone for their support, sponsorship and participation.
